Q: I Am Interested In A Custom Guitar. How Much Will It Cost?

A: This is by far the most common question people ask. It cannot be answered in a way that makes it simple to post on our website. The details on a custom guitar are endless, and there is a page available that covers a large amount of what we do. Click Here to go to the page, and you will immediately realize how complicated a question it really is. We recommend you print out the sheet and then call us to discuss your project.

Custom guitars are special, personal instruments. To ensure you get exactly what you are looking for, it is important you speak to a professional who can assist you. Due to the extremely wide variety of body shapes and materials that Ed Roman Guitars proudly offers, it is recommended you call and speak to Ed or Scott directly concerning prices and options for your custom guitar. We can be reached at (702) 597-0147. Our business hours are 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. Pacific Time, Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Saturday.

In short, the price range for a custom guitar starts somewhere around $1,500 and can go as high as $30,000 and beyond. The average price for one of our USA hand-made fully custom guitars is $3,778. This number is based on cost averaging the 1933 total serialized guitars we built in 2008, 2009, and 2010.

Q: The item I am interested in has no price listed on the site. Where can I find it?

A: By calling us. On major brand instruments some companies have a MAP (minimum advertised price) which pigeonholes customers into paying a specific price. We often have special deals and sales on these instruments so it is worth your while to call us. On custom guitars there are changing prices due to changes in costs and materials (woods, etc.) that can vary the price of these guitars as well as Ed Roman Guitars often running sales on these custom instruments. Rather than constantly changing the prices online we find speaking directly to our customers about these items to be far more productive.

Q: Do we accept credit cards from outside the USA?

A: No. We will only accept checks & wire transfers in US Dollars from our customers outside the USA.

If you must use a credit card you will lose your cash discount and you will have to wait until funds have totally cleared before we will ship.  You must also sign our special order form.

Q: Do we accept PayPal?

A: Yes we do , if the customer prefers and is willing to cover all PayPal fees. We feel that PayPal is not ideal, but at times it does serve a purpose for smaller orders. PayPal charges 4% to 5% so on sales over $600 we prefer to use a wire transfer or direct deposit into our account.

Q: What forms of payment will we take on custom and specialty guitars?

A: On custom made or specially ordered guitars we will only accept Cash, Money Orders, Checks, or Wire Transfers.

Q: Do we allow cancellations on custom guitar orders?

A: No. We do not accept cancellations on custom guitars.  Be prepared to forfeit your deposit.
