The Renaissance semi-hollow "ampli-coustic" guitars and
basses will give you the finest in amplified acoustic instrument tones with none
of the problems associated with adding pickups and mics to acoustic guitars.
Built like fine acoustic instruments with solid braced cedar tops, bent
sides, and solid wood backs, but with a solid mahogany internal center block,
the Renaissance instruments combine the best of both the acoustic and electric
worlds. The maple necks bolt on and the deep cutaways allow access to 24 frets
on Guitars and 22 on Basses. Rosewood or Pau Ferro fingerboards are trimmed with
New Zealand Paua shell fret markers, and the peg heads are overlaid with walnut.
I strongly recommend and endorse All of the Turner &
Renaissance Instruments. Currently I use a Renaissance Bass at least 50% of the
time when I am recording. Not only does it sound incredible but it
plays great and it's extremely light.
