Graphite as a material is extremely beneficial in the construction of a twelve string due to the added structural demands placed on the guitar by six extra strings. The stability and strength of graphite compared to wood is very high. As a result, RainSong is able to set its twelve string action low and design its necks to be thin, comfortable, and easy to play without fear of structural failure. Additionally, the RainSong twelve  string will stay in tune far longer than conventional wooden twelve string acoustics.

The graphite sound of RainSong is only brightened and made more intense by the complex tones, overtones and sympathetic overtones specific to a twelve string.
