Trent Salter Premier Guitar Magazine

Quicksilver Guitar

This Guitar has optional LSR tuners on it. There have been a few issues with the LSR tuners. Please read the LSR tuner page and make up your own mind.

Quicksilver's run from $1,995.00 to $7,500.00. The average Quicksilver sold is in the $2,750.00 to $3,495.00 range. It is important to realize that, if you compare a Quicksilver with its very popular machine made competitor, the price will always be lower. However, Quicksilver offers many more options that are simply not available at any price on the competitive model. When you take that into account, the Quicksilver really beats the pants off the competition price-wise.

The Quicksilver offers tone, beauty, options, unique features, rock solid construction and quality parts that guitar players have not only come to appreciate, but expect. In the current boutique pool of guitar choices, one has to weigh every feature and benefit and of course the investment. With a starting price of $2,195.00 and so many options available you can literally build a custom shop guitar at the price of a mass produced model.

A Word About Ed Roman's Wood Prices

If our wood prices seem high.
there are some very important facts you need to know!

  1. Ed Roman's prices are always less than 1/3 of what Alembic charges. Ed Roman's prices are in line with what PRS charges, however we guarantee better looking wood, A far superior Bridge System, Hard Mount Pickups and quite a few more options that PRS does not make available.
  2. The figure of Ed's Roman's wood runs the gamut from the absolute best in the world to as low as PRS 9 out of 10 grade.
  3. We offer guitars that have very nice average PRS grade 9 tops for absolutely no extra charge.
  4. What some companies calls a 10 top is quite nice, but it does not compare to Ed Roman Medallion Grade
  5. No expense is spared to buy the absolute Finest Tonewoods that can be found anywhere.
  6. No other guitar manufacturer anywhere in the world offers as many different wood choices! 43 different woods.
  7. Ed Roman occasionally will build a custom rifle stock. In the gun Industry a piece of wood that a guitar player might have to pay $750.00 for could sell for $2,200.00 to $2,500.00!

This gunstock in an unfinished state would sell for $2,995.00 at any quality Gun Shop. The rifle Itself did sell for almost $9,000.00. The only reason it went for that much was because of the wood. The action and barrel are stock Remington worth about $800.00 and the scope was an illuminated reticule IOR Sniper Scope worth approximately $600.00. Maybe I'm in the wrong business...

Ed

Example of a Gibson Les Paul using Ed Roman's Quilted Maple Top! If you can find a stock Gibson with wood this nice and real Abalone binding. Be prepared to spend $15,000.00 or more. Ed Roman will do the same job for less than 20% of what Gibson charges.

Pickups

Most Seymour Duncan pickups are included free of charge (including the Black/Backs ™). Most Dimarzio pickups are included free of charge (but they are the least recommended). Most PRS pickups are available for $50.00 each they can't be solid mounted they have to be spring loaded). Customers can supply their own pickups.

Customer Supplied Components

A customer can supply any component including the wood for their particular instrument. Every effort is made to provide the customer with the absolute highest level of customization. However there will be extra charges for items that require discussions, engineering & special design. Most of the major manufacturers custom shops limit the customer to only their very limiting pre selected parts.

Substitutions

Occasionally it might become necessary to make substitutions if a particular product is unavailable. I will not arbitrarily install a different item without consulting the customer. I cannot hold guitar for more than 30 days without full payment in situation where the customer has not supplied the specified parts or in the case of a company not delivering a specified part. For example LSR Tuners can sometimes be back ordered for 6 months or more. If the customer has specified LSR tuners I will wait until the product is delivered but the customer can only hold back payment on the specified item itself.

Price Increases

Price increases on Quicksilver guitars are announced annually or semi annually coinciding with the NAMM shows. If a customer orders a guitar his price will remain in effect even in the event of a price increase.

Short Rant For Good Measure

Like the science-fiction world of the Matrix, a false reality is being pulled daily over people's eyes, often through what they see and hear on their TV screens. Facts have lost value. Logic rarely applies. Some living in this American Matrix are like the everyday people in the movies, simply oblivious to what's going on beneath the surface, either too busy or too bored to find out. Others appear to know better but behave like Cipher, the character in the original movie who chooses the fake pleasures of the Matrix over what Morpheus calls the desert of the real.
