Hewn out of single block of
6061 T6 aircraft aluminum, polished to a shine unlike any you
have ever seen – and then chromed - celebrating the exceptional
qualities of metal. These guitars make use of the surprisingly
beautiful, dynamic, sustaining qualities of this metal alloy and
produce a clean, rich and robust sound. It creates sustain that
continues forever, a clean, rich, robust sound that beautifully
hangs in the air.

Liquid Metal guitars are not another reinterpretation in wood or
plastic. This is metal – machined, hard cool metal - with
soothing curves and sinful cuts, whose luminescence sizzles and
shimmers as only chromed metal can.

This Guitar is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to photograph!!
Chrome reflects light & therefore the problem.

Body
A solid block of aluminum alloy is machined to
a proprietary thickness. This is the thickness that was found to have the best qualities for sound. The guitar is
hollowed out, but plays, as it is intended, as a solid body guitar.
The chromed body is 17 " long from the tip of the top horn to the back, 13 1/2 "
at the widest body point, with a 7 3/4" waist.
The guitar weighs 8 lbs.
Neck
Ebony fingerboard with 22 frets and 25 1/2" scale, 1.71" wide
@ nut, 2.22" wide @ 22nd fret.
The tilt-back headstock eliminates the need for a string tree and provides
crisper open notes. We use a graphite nut which incorporates Teflon and match
the grooves to each guitar's intonation. This makes the guitar exceptionally
playable.
A diamond ground fingerboard is accurate to within one thousandth of an inch for
super low string action.
Hard alloy precision medium jumbo frets are .103 wide and .048 tall.

The neck is a wonderful balance between thickness and speed. It Really Blew My
Mind...
The neck is painted black, with three coats and black lacquer and then five thin
coats of clear lacquer, that is then wet sanded and buffed and then another five
coats of clear that is then sanded and buffed and finally... another three coats
that are wet sanded and buffed to a brilliant shine. This process gives the
necks a rich and substantial feel.
Players often ask, Is this really wood?
Pickups
TV Jones, designed and builds the LMG 6000 neck and LMG 6001
bridge custom pickups.
At the heart of the bridge pickup are two extra-tall, extra thick alloy poles,
allowing for more winds of standard-gauge wire. Single treble notes are
reproduced with a full, midrange fatness, while bass notes twang out deep &
clear.
The matched neck model uses standard bobbins overwound with standard-gauge wire.
The resulting tone is slightly darker and hotter.
The LMG 6000 neck model uses standard .380" pole-to-pole spacing, while the LMG
6001 bridge features a pole-to-pole spacing of .406" for optimum string
separation and output.
All LMG models are wax saturated to help eliminate microphonic
feedback. Each pickup is mounted to a boss on the back of the body. The angle of
the pickups has been scientifically matched to the attack of the string.
The sound is spectacular, the body structure does lend a tremendous sustain to
the sound, a simple pluck seems to hang in the air forever. There is a
remarkable clarity, even in a hard driving chord, each note can be heard, this
clarity is also apparent even when the overdrive of the amp is turned way way
up. The future looks bright for stainless steel guitars of all kinds. They
deliver a tremendously clean, full & robust tone.
Liquid Metal Guitars uses a Sprague orange drop capacitor for tone whose
technology makes the tonal changes sweeping and accurate. There is no false
treble tone.
