Ed Roman Guitars Personalities

Ed Roman Crew 2012

Ed Roman: Our Founder

The Grand Poobah, The Big Cheese, A Living Legend In His Own Mind (just ask him, he'll tell ya).

A bit scattered, a bit fried, and a LOT burned out! The eye in the sky asleep at the keyboard,Ed is the Visionary, the idea man, the mover and the shaker. He gets so many creative ideas that he can barely keep up with the day-to-day operation of the business. He is always coming up with new innovative designs for guitars.

Ed demands perfection and is unhappy when a plan doesn't come together. His office can be quiet for 3 to 5 hours and all of a sudden he can get a bug up his ass, and then He bellows on the intercom for his minions.

Ed is a total workaholic and often works late into the night, burning the midnight oil, sometimes frustrated because there are not enough hours in a day. He is an intense individual who has a sharp sense of urgency.

He is highly controversial on the net, mostly for his unforgiving opinions and nuclear-powered rants.

Scott Krell: Sales Manager

Sales Manager and walking encyclopedia of guitar and bass knowledge

If Scott doesn't know something about a guitar or bass then it's doubtful anyone else will know either. He is also the lead guitarist for Face Down, a very popular Heavy Metal Band In The Las Vegas Area. He's a very pleasant person and much friendlier than this picture would lead one to believe. Scott is also a D.P.M., having left a medical practice to pursue his passion - music.

Scott has been with Ed longer than anyone else presently in the company. He was the first guy Ed hired when the business moved to Vegas almost 10 years ago and he continually impresses Ed with his knowledge of guitars and all things musical.

Like everyone else here; Scott is here because he wants to be. And his passion / love is music and guitars.

Brett W. Bertram: IT Director, Sr. Web Designer

Brett left the comfort of a government job with DHS to come back to work for Ed in late August of 2011. Who'd resign a great gig like that to come back to Las Vegas? Brett would.

Brett began working for Ed Roman Guitars back in December of 2002 and was with Ed until 2006. He's been designing and building websites for over 14 years in Las Vegas and holds a BA degree in English with minors in Music Composition and Classical Civilizations.

He designed our Abstract Anarchist, several of our headstocks and is our ad man as well. After being away from Las Vegas for 2 years, he realized that "There's No Place Like Vegas,"™ and ESPECIALLY no place like Ed Roman Guitars, so he's back in Vegas with Ed Roman.

Bob Becker: Parts & Setup Manager

I work here at my station at Ed Roman's - The King Of Guitars - as a builder and Almighty Repair King of the Universe!

My life is full and never ending with its problems and tribulations to go with it ... yet I stay content and true. I work with some of the most talented and strange people I have ever had the chance of knowing. I love them all! They are all together great and true people. Overall ...

Now, with all that I have written in this bio of myself ... I love my job and always look forward to new projects, expanding my knowledge in this trade, and producing some of the most outrageous guitars I have ever played or built. It is my life and passion as an employee of Ed Roman Guitars.

Mike Risinger: Production Manager & Chief Woodworker

Mike is not only a gifted artisan with a critical eye, but also a talented musician with a great ear.

Mike has a passion for building fine guitars and pushing the limits of design and utility. He's always looking for new equipment and tools for the shop to make our guitars the coolest and most innovative on the planet.

Ed Roman "The Guitar King"
Playing an Epiphone Riviera through one of the first Marshall amps ever imported in the USA.  (Turned up to 11.) Plugged into two Fender PA columns with Wurlitzer Brass Horn in the background.  (Ear drum piercing high end) Wearing blue & yellow paisley bellbottoms & a pink, blue, & orange shirt. (It was so bright, you couldn't look directly at him.) The boots we are told were bright shiny silver patent leather. Ed Roman "Hot Ice" Danbury Elks Hall Circa 1966 BC

Chiefly remembered for streaking naked on his Harley down Main St. Danbury Ct. During the winter of 1967.
Ed may have started the whole streaking craze !!!!   Streaking happened in the early 70's,
This picture is in black & white because color cameras hadn't been invented yet.  Hell color hadn't been invented yet.

How is Ed playing an electric guitar?  (Electricity hadn't been invented yet.)

Ed Custom built Harley Davidson Choppers during the late 60's & made his initial money that propelled him to the Guitar Business in 1975

Scott Krell

Guitar Sales

Scott is Ed's right hand man, and it could be argued that he knows more than Ed does when it comes to prices in the store.

Aside from life at Ed Roman Guitars, Scott plays lead guitar in Face Down and is an endorsed Jackson artist.

Scott is actually a Doctor who retired from a lucrative private medical practice to devote his life to music !!!

Some say he was born in Transylvania back in the year 1575. He has a strange fear of daylight and has been seen wearing a black shroud when someone opens a window near him.

You can't see him in the mirror, his reflection looks like a wisp of smoke.
Sometimes we call him  Smoke & Mirrors.

Stephan Williams

Guitar Sales

Stephan was a member of Great White, and he wrote one of their biggest hits called 'Save Your Love'.

God bless royalty checks!

Stephan is one of our most knowledgeable guitar guys and is always happy to help get you into the right instrument.

He went to school with Eddie Van Halen and grew up around the whole late 70's & 80's rock scene in LA.

He knows many of the famous musicians that Ed deals with from the days he played in Great White.

He also owns a recording studio that he runs part time.

Tommy

Guitar Sales

Tommy is the youngest looking member of our crew, He speaks four languages, Plays in 13 bands and is older than dirt.

Tommy played in numerous LA bands during the 80's, He is well known by a lot of our customers who come in from California.

Ron Blake

Head Luthier

Ron Has been with Ed for 20 years and before Ed he was with Carl Thompson for 21 years. Ron does all of our high end  prototyping.

An insanely talented luthier, we would be lost without Ron.

Ron is one of the main reason that we can fulfill your wildest guitar dreams.

Ed always says, "Ron is the one that makes me look good !!!! "

Brent Lynch

Custom Shop

Our resident madman.

Along with Jarrod, Brent is the other half of the notorious 'Fat Dukes Of F**k' project.

Brent is a very gifted woodworker & guitar builder.

He enjoys sunsets, long walks on the beach, and is huge fan of Chuck Norris, The Osmonds & The Archie's.

He appears regularly on American Idol and want's to be a fireman when he grows up.

TC
(Tarl Cooley)

Web & Photos

One of our resident overworked computer slaves.

TC started out as our limo driver, but it soon became apparent that his talents were not being used to their full potential.

Now he is an integral part of bringing you, our adoring public, the incredible content of the world famous Ed Roman website!

Some of the guys didn't want their pictures up here
probably because they were worried about being recognized from
America's Most Wanted!

Hey Ed, I wanted to come and talk to you and work again but I've been real busy packing, I am moving back to Illinois this Wednesday. My mom needs me and my job with the school district has gone to shit. I wanted you to know that working for you was my favorite job and I always had a good time.
I still think Quicksilver's are the best guitars and I tell people that still. I've been applying for jobs and use you as one of my references, I hope you will give me positive feedback if anyone calls you. I worked there a couple different times, I'm not sure of the dates I worked but I started in 2003 and the last time was July 2006 well that's what I've been using. I hope all goes well for you and I hope you expand to Chicago so I could run a store! how great that would be! Thanks for everything !!!
Mike Sachs
