East Indian Rosewood

I Didn't Bother to Get a Picture, It's Too Blah

I rarely if ever use Indian Rosewood, It is acceptable for use but Madagascar Rosewood is only pennies more and it sounds and looks better. The Indian rosewood in use by Gibson, PRS, Fender, Rickenbacker and most of the other big companies it can be bought for as low as .60 cents a fingerboard.

Indian Rosewood is a dull boring light brown and you can plainly see the filler used for the inlays. I prefer using ebony or at least Brazilian Dark Rosewood.

Certain kinds of Rosewood like Brazilian for example is over rated as a tonewood for fingerboards. But Brazilian Rosewood is always appropriate on an Acoustic Guitars.
